Update: Red For Ed Rally inside tomorrow
03/08/2019

It's finally here! The Red For Ed Rally is tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET at the Statehouse.

Due to inclement weather, the rally will now be held inside the Statehouse. Both the east and west entrances will be open. The west entrance is wheelchair accessible.

If you can, plan to arrive at noon to get through Statehouse security. Prepare for security similarly to how you would for airport security - remove all objects and electronic devices from pockets, avoid heavy belt buckles and jewelry and prepare bags and items to go through X-ray - to ensure we move rally attendees through security swiftly.

Signs in the Statehouse are restricted to 2' x 2' and may not be mounted on sticks.

Reminders

  • Don't forget to wear red.
  • Plan ahead for parking. The parking lot off the north steps of the Statehouse, accessed off of Ohio St. is free. The secondary Statehouse parking lot, accessed off of W. New York St. will be available for $10/vehicle from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Check Downtown Indy's parking guide for additional help. We recommend trying the Sun and World of Wonders Circle Center mall garages for the most affordable options. Bus parking and additional parking options for cars are listed on the ISTA blog.
  • Share on social media that you'll be attending the rally. We've created shareable images to use on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Please tag ISTA in your posts so we can re-share your message. Use the hashtags #RedForEd, #IamISTA and/or #InvestInEducationIN.

We're expecting educators and advocates from all over the state carpooling and arriving on buses. It's going to be an exciting day!

If you haven't yet RSVP'd, tell us you're coming.

If you have any questions today or tomorrow, the ISTA Member Resource Center will be staffed - call 844-ASK-ISTA. Let's wear our red and advocate for our kids, our schools and our future.
