What is ISTA Reads?

ISTA Reads is a statewide book club created exclusively for ISTA members. The program offers educators a low-pressure way to connect, recharge and build community through shared reading experiences. ISTA Reads supports educator well-being, strengthens connections across locals and regions and reinforces ISTA’s commitment to the whole educator—beyond bargaining and advocacy.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Members read one book every two months (April, June, August, October and December).
  • Members submit book suggestion and vote on each selection.
  • Each books includes a reading schedule, discussion prompts and optional virtual and in-person conversations.
  • All resources - discussion boards, event information and updates will be posted on reading platform.
  • Members who complete all selections are entered into a drawing for ISTA Reads merchandise and other small giveaways.
