WHAT IS ISTA ACADEMY?
ISTA Academy is a comprehensive online professional learning hub designed exclusively for ISTA members, offering high-quality courses and resources to support educators at every stage of their careers. The platform provides flexible, on-demand professional development aligned with current educational priorities, classroom practice and leadership growth, allowing members to learn anytime, anywhere.
GETTING STARTED
- If you are a first-time user, click REGISTER NOW listed to the top right side of the screen and follow the steps below. NOTE: Members who have already registered for the NEA Professional Excellence Portal (PEP) must register for the ISTA Academy with the same email address and password.
- Enter your personal email address and create a password.
- Click REGISTER.
- You will receive a confirmation email. Open the link in the email confirmation message.
- On the following screen, please complete the requested information for your profile. First, Last, State, Zip, and Phone are required. Click SAVE.
- Find the course named: REQUIRED: Finalize Your Registration!
Click START.
- Read the instructions in the course and click FINISH COURSE.
- You will now be able to click to the course catalogue to view your learning options.
- Enroll in a course and begin learning at your own pace
- Earn Professional Growth Plan (PGP) points upon course completion for some courses
- To receive regular updates, add notications@learnupon.com to your contacts or "Safe Senders" list. This will ensure that all messages from this email address are considered safe and will not be re-routed to your junk email folder.

Offerings will include nationally recognized courses from NEA’s course catalog, as well as original courses developed by ISTA members, ensuring learning experiences that are high-quality, relevant and grounded in real-world educator experiences.
