Stories from the front lines: Hear from educators at Summer Conference
05/18/2018

Educators from North Carolina are the most recent group to demonstrate for more public education funding, following the lead of West Virginia, Kentucky, Colorado, Oklahoma and Arizona. Nearly 150,000 educators from these states have walked out of classrooms to advocate on behalf of their students.

What pushed these educators to take action? What kind of community and public support did they secure before they walked out? How did they organize educators statewide?

You’ll learn the answers to these questions and more at Summer Conference. ISTA President Teresa Meredith has invited educators from Kentucky, Oklahoma and Arizona to join ISTA members for a panel titled, “Stories from the Front Lines: A Conversation with Educators Leading Walkouts.”

Take this opportunity to learn from educators on the front lines of the fight for funding and respect.

Bring your questions to Summer Conference June 14 – 15 in Indianapolis. Registration is only open until June 1. Secure your spot today
