Students in classrooms throughout Indiana will celebrate Read Across America Day on March 2. Read Across America, now in its 20th year, is a signature program of the National Education Association (NEA), which focuses on motivating children and teens to read. ISTA will join the Indianapolis Education Association and the Indiana Fever for a reading event at Anna Brochhausen School 88.  

"As educators, we know that students who read or are read to do better in school," said ISTA Vice President, Keith Gambill. "Celebrating Read Across America Day in your classrooms, schools and homes is a great start to instilling a love of reading and learning in kids." 

Read Across America Day honors Dr. Seuss's birthday and the joy he brought to reading. NEA expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read.
