Does your local have an idea to build membership or to build capacity and strength, but need funding to make it happen? ISTA is offering a grant to local associations to build membership, offer members professional development or to supplement support for members attending ISTA or NEA events.

Interested locals are simply asked to submit a brief plan that explains how the grant funding will be used, as well as their local membership plan. Plans will be reviewed and approved by the local’s UniServ director prior to submission. Plans must be submitted by 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022.

Suggested allowable uses:

• Membership campaigns (new member events, member recruitment training and support, lost time, or stipends for recruiters).
• Racial and social justice training and/or outreach to BIPOC members.
• Supplemental support, including travel expenses, for attending ISTA or NEA sponsored trainings and events.
• Technology investments.

Grant amounts are based on the size of membership for each local.

• Large locals (350 members or more): $1,500
• Medium locals (100 to 349 members): $1,000
• Small locals (99 or fewer members): $500

Grant funds must be used by the end of the 2022 – 23 membership year. The local grant cannot be used to purchase gift cards.
