ISTA Statement on Updated CDC Guidance for Back to School
07/28/2021

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance for in-person learning this fall. ISTA President Keith Gambill issued the following statement.

“As students and educators gear up for the start of the new school year, it’s important that we continue to ensure they have safe learning and working environments. Wearing masks, getting vaccinated, social distancing and handwashing — all in combination — are the best ways to keep students, families, and educators safe and keep community transmission rates low. That’s why we urge school districts across Indiana to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance. Let’s ensure we have safe, equitable in-person instruction for every Hoosier student.”
