ISTA Statement on Governor’s Proposal to Delay Student Count
08/12/2020

In response to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s proposal to delay the student count day until possibly December, ISTA President Keith Gambill issued the following statement:

“We expect the governor to keep his promise to fully fund our public schools and this proposal seems to be that intent. While on the surface his proposal appears positive, we have questions about its implementation and impact on teacher pay through collective bargaining. ISTA looks forward to learning more and being part of the process to ensure this policy is carried out fairly for public schools and educators.”
