ISTA member recognized with national award
12/08/2020

In addition to being named ISTA’s Hoosier Educator of the Year, Randall Studt has earned another accolade. Studt has been recognized with a California Casualty 2021 Award for Teaching Excellence.

The NEA Foundation selects nominees for their dedication to the profession, community engagement, professional development, attention to diversity and advocacy for fellow educators.

Studt lives up to these qualities having spent more than 30 years in the profession teaching German and connecting students to cultural activities and international travel, routinely cheering on his students at sports and arts extra curriculars, serving on the Greater Lafayette’s Human Rights Commission and chairing the Indiana Political Action Committee for Education.

“ISTA is proud to have yet another member recognized for this annual award,” said ISTA President Keith Gambill. “Randy possesses all the qualities of excellence in teaching and is a leader in the Association.”

In February 2021, the NEA Foundation will host an annual gala to reveal five finalists and one educator for the National Award for Teaching Excellence. The gala will be livestreamed at neafoundation.org.
