Kokomo school board passes scathing resolution criticizing legislature for Glenda Ritz bills
02/18/2015

district-logo_03.pngThe Kokomo School Board adopted a sternly worded resolution today admonishing the legislature and their local representatives for pushing bills that seek to remove Superintendent Ritz as chair of the State Board of Education.

In part, the board states:

“We, the Kokomo Board of School Trustees, highly recommend that Indiana’s Senators and Representatives, including our locally-elected Senator Jim Buck and Representatives Mike Karickhoff and Heath VanNatter, reverse their past position and oppose HB 1609 and SB 1 while working to shelve these terrible bills.”

The entire resolution can be read here. ISTA is hearing of other local boards considering similar actions.
