ISTA to Host More Than 300 Teachers at Conference

INDIANAPOLIS — Feb. 29, 2016

The Indiana State Teachers Association will host teachers from across the state at a conference designed by teachers, for teachers March 4 – 5 at Eastwood Middle School, 4401 E. 62nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46220. The valuable two-day conference will offer educators practical and useful tools and best practices for working with K – 12 students in our public schools. 

“In the education field, learning is continuous,” said ISTA President Teresa Meredith. “Our members are always looking to advance their knowledge and discover new techniques to engage students. The Good Teaching Conference provides much needed professional development opportunities for teachers in the state.”

The conference will offer more than 40 workshops targeting grades K – 12 and a variety of disciplines. Conference attendees will hear from prominent education and academic figures in our state including State Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz, IU Southeast Professor Dr. Kevin Sue Bailey, Ed.D., and Marian University Professor Dr. Lori Desautels, Ph.D. 

“This is the premiere teaching and learning conference in Indiana,” said Mark Shoup, ISTA professional resources coordinator. “This is our second annual Good Teaching Conference, and we continue to grow our course offerings and attendance.”
