“Although ISTEP scores mostly remained stable, I continue to believe this test is flawed and the results in no way reflect the great work being done in public school classrooms around the state.
We remain opposed to standardized test scores being used for issues for anything other than student achievement in particular subjects. This includes the basing of teacher evaluations and school accountability grades on test scores. I encourage parents to reach out to their teacher if they really want to know how their child is doing in school.
