Explore professional development that fits your needs
11/09/2020

This school year includes a mix of in-person and virtual learning for students as well as educators. We’ve collected the best professional development from ISTA and the National Education Association (NEA) for you to pursue in whatever format works best for you. Choose how you want to engage with these resources and keep growing as a professional.

Good Teaching Conference Virtual Series, Recorded Sessions

ISTA’s popular Good Teaching Conference Virtual Series was recorded for members to explore on their own time. Connect with professional development at cvent.me/Rqamx7.

ISTA Ed Talk Facebook Group

You’re the experts, so connect with your colleagues who are regularly sharing the latest information, tips and best practices for learning. Explore content at facebook.com/groups/ISTAedtalk.

NEA ESP Quality Department

Discover webinars, podcasts and micro-credentials designed to support the professional growth of education support professionals (ESP). These professional development programs provide opportunities for ESPs to improve knowledge and skills important to their positions and job performance.

Explore options for ESP professional development at nea.org/home/30998.htm.

NEA Center for Social Justice

The NEA Center for Social Justice meets the needs of educators and communities at a time when racial and social justice issues are in the forefront. Training topics include diversity, cultural competence, minority leadership and more. Trainings equip educators to disrupt and eventually eradicate all forms of oppression in our schools and beyond.

Locals can request a training at neacsjpd.org/trainings/. Work with your UniServ Director to make the request and build your training.

School Me

NEA’s School Me series podcast is made specifically with new and early educators in mind but can be a great refresh for any educator. Check out the School Me series at neatoday.org/school-me.

ISTA Minority Affairs Committee Racial Justice Training

ISTA Board members and standing committee governance leaders have been invited to participate in a virtual Racial Justice Training Series. Future training opportunities will be made available to members.
