Power Hour Webinar Series: What to Do When Facing "No"
Discussion is a time for teachers to discuss relevant issues with their school employer. It’s defined in law as a mutual obligation of the superintendent and exclusive representative to meet and provide meaningful input or exchange points of view on teaching methods, student discipline, pupil/teacher ratio, class size or budget appropriations and more. The passing of SB 486 disrespects the collective voice of teachers and devalues the elected representative of teachers.
During this series, ISTA field staff will cover a range of topics including the impact of 486 on discussion and how to preserve discussion rights, how to identify issues and develop solutions and what to do when facing “no”. This webinar series aims to equip you with an understanding of how 486 affects you and how you can develop solutions when faced with challenges.
