Discover takeaways to use in your school at the Rising Educator Conference
09/19/2018

ISTA’s Rising Educator Conference will prepare aspiring educators for the classroom and offer tools and strategies for new and early career educators to use immediately with students.

The conference keynote speaker, Jen Alexander, MA, NCC, SB-RPT, will discuss the “why” of building trauma-sensitive schools. These are schools in which all kids can learn in a safe, caring environment. It also means looking at different approaches to prepare kids for learning.

Kids may bring trauma, stress and anxiety with them to school, and Alexander will offer strategies to regulate these feelings to build strong relationships and support kids.

Check out Alexander’s video that introduces a strategy to regulate students’ overwhelming feelings.
