Wellness Wednesday: Check out selfcare apps for educators
11/11/2020

Many educators incorporate mindfulness into the classroom to improve student outcomes, create space for learning and relieve anxiety. The benefits of mindfulness can extend to educators as well.

In a year when educators are faced with innumerable challenges, it’s time to put selfcare and wellness first. Building mindfulness into your daily routine can reduce stress, improve focus and reduce burnout.

But where to start? How to find time to dedicate to mindfulness? There’s an app for that!

If you don’t know where or how to start your personal mindfulness journey, start with these two educator-focused mindfulness apps. Both are free for K-12 educators during COVID-19.

Headspace is a leader in the mindfulness space. The app provides life-changing skills of meditation and mindfulness with hundreds of guided meditations. Headspace also has a private Facebook group for educators.

JabuMind's mission is to support teachers in their own social and emotional growth so that they, in turn, can help their students and school communities. The app offers meditations that are based on the iRest Method and are designed to fit into an educator’s day.
