TAKE ACTION: Thank legislators for opposing bill to appoint state superintendent
02/21/2017

Two bills are making their way through the House and Senate that take away voters’ ability to elect the superintendent of public instruction and make the office appointed by the governor. Both bills were up for a final vote Monday.

SB 179 was heard in the Senate yesterday and was defeated 26 -23. A House bill that mirrors the Senate bill was also heard yesterday. HB 1005 passed 68 – 29. Please send an email thanking the legislators who voted to stop this ill-conceived bill.
