Take Action: Tell legislators to support bill that pushes schools to invest more in teacher salaries
01/10/2019

Indiana currently spends a lower proportion of funds in the classroom than other surrounding states. HB 1003 would push schools to spend a higher proportion of their school funding on classroom instruction and educators’ salaries than administration costs.

We need to pay teachers competitive wages to attract and retain high-quality educators. HB 1003 is a fair start to begin addressing this issue. Also, legislators must address the level of funding our schools receive which will require a significant increase in public school funding this session.
