TAKE ACTION: Support bill to hold virtual schools more accountable
01/25/2019

HB 1172 aims to address the abysmal record of Indiana's virtual schools. The bill would require virtual schools to provide student onboarding and orientation, so they understand how virtual education works. School districts that claim more than 30 percent of their student population are in virtual school programs would be required to establish a standalone virtual school. Lastly, beginning with the next school year, only statewide authorizers would be allowed to have oversight of virtual charter schools.
