Statement on Gov. Eric Holcomb’s Announcement
03/19/2018

ISTA President Teresa Meredith released a statement following Gov. Holcomb's announcement to call a special session in May.

"We appreciate Gov. Holcomb’s leadership today calling for a narrow special session in May to do what’s right for our kids and our schools. Specifically, the governor agreed to provide additional funding to schools to address school safety through grants and advancements, and he also recognized the need of the Muncie Community Schools to receive a one-time, $12 million loan from the Common Schools Fund.

We remain committed to working with our elected leaders to ensure that both of these issues are resolved during May’s special session."
