Register for the Good Teaching Conference: Valuable professional development
01/20/2017

ISTA offers unique, practical and valuable professional development opportunities for our members and Hoosier educators. The Good Teaching Conference is one of ISTA’s premier events. ISTA member and Noblesville Teachers’ Forum member Sabrina Zachery talks about her experience at last year’s Good Teaching Conference.

“The Good Teaching Conference is a great benefit provided by ISTA. As a member, you’re able to attend for free! This will be their third year hosting this event. I’ve been to both events; the first year was great, but last year was fantastic. I cannot wait to see how much this conference has grown.

Last year, I was able to walk away from my sessions with ideas I could immediately implement. I know that some of the conferences I have been to have great ideas, but sometimes feel unrealistic to implement. Because the Good Teaching Conference was designed by ISTA members and presenters are teachers who are in the classroom currently, it provides real-life scenarios with real-life lessons.

This conference is a great resource for learning, but is an even better resource for networking. There were opportunities for me to catch up with peers from high school, college and past practicums. I even had the opportunity to become more involved with the union by talking to different UniServ directors and learning from them. I would encourage you to attend. At the very least, we usually enjoy a yummy breakfast and lunch!”
