Learn how to improve student performance through collaboration at Summer Conference
05/16/2017

ISTA President Teresa Meredith is pleased to announce an addition to the Summer Conference program – a keynote address from the director of the Center for the Study of Collaboration in Work and Society at Rutgers University, Saul Rubinstein, Ph.D.

Dr. Rubinstein will outline his latest research demonstrating that collaboration between unions and administration can improve student achievement. Having spent two decades consulting and studying union-management relationships in education, he has seen a desire to deliver quality education from both sides. His research led him to dive into examples of union-administration partnerships that fostered, “school improvement, teaching quality and student achievement.”

Dr. Rubinstein’s research has led to a counter-conversation on school reform. Rather than taking a market approach to education reform – look to the teachers, education support professionals and principals who are working in schools and with students to drive planning and problem solving to improve public schools. That’s what we’ve been saying all along.

Join ISTA at the Summer Conference June 15 – 17 in Indianapolis to hear more from Dr. Rubinstein – how to help your local work with administrators, how to start a collaborative conversation and how to convey the research findings to policymakers.

Register for Summer Conference.
