ISTA Statement on Senate Republican Proposed Budget
04/08/2021

In response the release of the Indiana Senate Republican’s proposed budget on Thursday, ISTA President Keith Gambill issued the following statement.

“The majority of Hoosier kids attend public schools. And while the Senate proposal is a move in the right direction, most notably addressing the complexity index and restoration of funding for certain career and technical education courses, we remain adamantly opposed to the addition of new and increased privatization efforts.

“We anticipate a positive April revenue forecast where foundation funding could be improved and encourage policymakers to listen to educators and fund our schools so that every child in every community has the opportunity for a great public education."
