ISTA Statement on Governor's Proposed Budget
01/10/2019

ISTA President Teresa Meredith issued the following statement in reaction to Gov. Holcomb’s proposed 2019 – 21 state budget.

“We thank Gov. Holcomb for his continued focus on increasing teacher pay this legislative session. The governor’s proposed increase of two percent each year, however, would barely keep up with inflation. While the governor’s proposed budget is a good start, we encourage legislators to dig deeper and allocate additional funding for public education. Educators are counting on elected leaders to do what’s right.”
