ISTA Statement In Response To Governor’s Announcement Of Teacher Compensation Commission Members

ISTA President Teresa Meredith issued the following statement in reaction to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement of the members appointed to his newly formed Next Level Teacher Compensation Commission.
“As we call on lawmakers to take immediate action on increasing teacher pay this legislative session, we are hopeful that the commission and its advisory council will find the long-term solutions needed to make Indiana a regional leader in teacher compensation once again.
While we are disappointed that a current K – 12 educator is not on the governor’s commission, we appreciate ISTA’s inclusion on the commission’s advisory council.
ISTA looks forward to working with the commission and fellow advisory council members.”
