ISTA Announces Interim Executive Director

ISTA welcomes Sheryl Mathis, who will join the Association as the interim executive director effective July 17.

Sheryl Mathis began her teaching career 46 years ago as a special education teacher. Immediately following, she joined the staff at Ski Country UniServ as a UniServ Director until she accepted a position as Associate Executive Director with Kansas National Education Association.

In 2007, she joined Arizona Education Association as Executive Director where she remained for six years until she transitioned to Executive Director of Ohio Education Association. Mathis joins ISTA after serving as the interim executive director of Arizona Education Association.

Mathis will serve as the interim executive director as a nationwide search for a permanent executive director is conducted.
