Help students explore scholarship opportunities from ISTA

ISTA and the ISTA Foundation offer numerous scholarships to high school seniors pursuing continuing education. Share these scholarships with your students.

Applications and nominations for scholarships and awards are open. However, ISTA is in the process of transitioning to a new application platform. Applicants or nominators my be asked to resubmit materials on the new platform in 2021. You may also choose to submit to the new platform after January 4, 2021.

All scholarship applications are due March 1. Learn more and apply at ista-in.org/scholarships-awards.

Career Scholarship 

Eligibility: Public high school seniors who are dependents of current ISTA members 

This $1,000 annual scholarship, with an option to renew for three years, is awarded to students with demonstrated academic achievement and leadership in co-curricular activities.

Damon P. Moore Scholarship 

Eligibility: Ethnic minority public high school senior 

This $1,000 scholarship, with an option to renew for three years, is awarded to an ethnic-minority student actively pursuing a degree in education with demonstrated academic achievement and leadership in co-curricular activities.

Educator Scholarship 

Eligibility: Public high school seniors who are dependents of current ISTA members 

This $1,000 scholarship, with an option to renew for three years, is awarded to students actively pursuing a degree in education with demonstrated academic achievement and leadership in co-curricular activities.

ISTA Foundation District & Retired Scholarship  

Eligibility: Public high school seniors who are dependents of current ISTA members 

These scholarships (of varying amounts) are awarded to students entering an accredited training program or attending a two or four-year accredited college or university with at least a C average.

Justine M. Harrell Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Public high school seniors pursuing a degree in education 

This $1,000 needs-based scholarship, with an option to renew for three years, is awarded to students actively pursuing a degree in education with demonstrated academic achievement, leadership in co-curricular activities and family income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty line.

Louis B. Russell Scholarship 

Eligibility: Ethnic minority public high school senior 

This $1,000 scholarship, with an option to renew for one year, is awarded to an ethnic-minority student actively pursuing an industrial arts, vocational education or technical preparation at an accredited post-secondary institution with demonstrated academic achievement and leadership in co-curricular activities.
