The Racial Affairs and Professional Practices and Standards Committees are hosting a workshop. This workshop will address how to initiate courageous conversations in ways that meet students’ developmental needs. This work will also demonstrate how to use mirrors and windows work to be culturally responsive towards your students. Through conversation, short teaching clips and opportunities for you to plan, you will leave this workshop feeling comfortable to lead these courageous and culturally responsive conversations in your classrooms. Please bring two to three culturally relevant picture books for planning.
