The Indiana Educators Rising Conference is hosted by ISTA for high school students interested in pursuing a career in education. Students will compete in teacher competencies, attend sessions, connect with peers and elect state officers. Learn more about Educators Rising.

Brooke Moreland, assistant director of the IUPUI 21st Century Scholars program, helps more than 2,400 scholars maintain their scholarship award and gain a better understanding of the college landscape.
Moreland is currently a Ph.D. student studying organizational leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University. She graduated from Butler University in 2011 and the Indiana University-Bloomington Higher Education & Student Affairs program in 2013.
In October 2009, Moreland developed the Rose of Hope Foundation, an Indiana nonprofit encouraging youth to make college a part of their future plans. She is also passionate about social justice issues, founding the Millennials for Social Justice in October 2016.
Registration will open in January.
Teacher leaders will register individual students. Teacher leaders will need the following student information prior to registration:
- Full name
- School district
- T-shirt size
- Whether student will enter competition
- Dietary restrictions or allergies
Registration will close Feb. 20.
Elections for Educators Rising statewide officers will be held at the conference.
Candidates will be given time at the conference to give a speech. Election materials may be displayed or distributed on lunch tables.
Students interested in running for office must complete the nomination form before Feb. 20.
Competition winners will be invited to represent Indiana at the 2019 Educators Rising National Conference June 22 - 25 at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas. Conference registration fees (and membership fees, as needed), hotel (double-occupancy) and flight will be covered. Students considering entering one or more competitions should attempt to hold the conference dates on their calendar.
Competitions will run concurrently to breakout sessions throughout the day until concluded. The competitions open for entry this year are below.
