Bills Going Public
12/27/2013

Some Senate bills introduced for the 2014 session of the General Assembly have begun to be unveiled.

Here is a brief listing of some of the first bills to watch:

SB 35; Sen. Mike Delph (R-Carmel)--prohibits straight ticket voting (except for voting for presidential electors).

SB 47:  Sen. Greg Taylor (D-Indianapolis)--requires the inclusion of black history in the social studies curriculum at public and accredited nonpublic schools.

SB 54:  Sen. Joe Zakas (R-Granger)--Urges the Legislative Council to assign to the Pension Management Oversight Commission the task of studying the status of existing local government unit pension plans, including participation in PERF, "to determine if changes are necessary or adviseable."

Obviously, there is more where those came from.  Stay tuned.
